During the Valentine Period which starts February 1st until Valentines Day (February 14th), Red Rose sur-charges and shipping sur-charges apply. The sur-charge amount varies by rose-length and is calculated into each product. The reason there is a sur-charge is due to the high volume demand for red roses in the USA during Valentines. This is an industry practice and market supply and demand dictates market value for the red roses. In addition, fuel costs and freight costs increase during this peak period due to the high volume of roses being shipped to the USA. All these things factor into the Red Rose sur-charge.
