Cutting at the proper time determines the duration of the vase life of the cut rose; that is why at MR Roses Flower Co we have specialists that know when exactly to cut a rose.
The appropriate time to cut a rose, is when the outer sepals of the flower have opened and point down, while the first petals are slowly beginning to open on the upper edge of the flower. The flower bud feels soft in this stage.
Also roses selected for the vase should be cut in the early hours of the morning while nighttime coolness still prevails. Roses should never be cut during the heat of midday for arranging; since their water content is at the lowest and their inner store of nutrients is at its greatest.
After cutting, our specialists, place the stems into a pail filled up to the halfway level with lukewarm water. This slows down the physiological breakdown processes inside the stem considerably.
Then roses are classified according to varieties and sizes.

Our difference lies in the fact that we are the Farm. When you consider purchasing roses from MR Roses Flower Company, you are dealing with the people that grow the roses. Others will sell you farm-direct roses, but they essentially act as the “middle person” between you and the farm. They will forward your orders to Farms like ours.
When you purchase from us there is no middle person, you deal directly with us – the farm. For every purchase, we send a FedEx tracking number, where you can make sure your roses are coming from Quito – Ecuador – our farm! Other flower sellers don’t have this, when you track a box, the box will probably come from Miami or LA, where most of the wholesalers have their stock (quick fact to take into consideration when buying flowers online).
All of our boxes of flowers are transported with the FedEx floral program (refrigerated travel).
When buying our flowers check the FedEx tracking info: from the farm to the home in 2.5 days! Some local florists have roses 10 or more days sitting in their shop.

We grow the roses on our farm and guarantee that you are sent only the freshest rose petals available. Most rose petal suppliers purchase their fresh rose petals from rose farms such as ours. These rose petals may average 8-15 days old by the time they leave the supplier, but since they remain refrigerated, these petals still have a fresh appearance; however in our definition these rose petals are not fresh rose petals and will not last you as long as you may expect. Since most rose petals are meant to be used for a one time / moment only, the freshness may not be such an important issue. However, we feel you deserve better. Our rose petals are taken from the freshest stock of roses available right at our farm and kept refrigerated lasting up to 2 weeks if kept refrigerated. You will receive the freshest rose petals available on the market and we will guarantee freshness and aroma in our petals.
